Gracious, this is a fairly well-put together page! Navigation is easy, thanks to the top frame [you'd be surprised at how many people don't care about proper navigation in their sites]. Like Kayura touched on, there is a lot of code on these pages -- mostly CSS, Javascript, and DHTML tags -- that can slow down the loading time of the page... especially if you happen to be on a dino-slow connection like me. I guess I can forgive the load times, though, since the content on the pages is worth the wait. I only have one complaint about this site, and I'm probably the only one who even cares about this anyway, so I'll just call it an "observation with a slightly negative overtone." See, I really don't care for the DHTML scrolling, for three main reasons -- you can't control how fast or slow you scroll, it doesn't work in all broswers, and I can't use my little mouse rolly-thingy. >__< I love my mouse rolly-thingy. Other than that, I really can't find much wrong with this site. Just a warning for those with old or Java-disabled comps -- you might want to avoid this site, because there's definitely a lot of "high-tech" stuff going on. ^-^ BTW, Twigz, I'd suggest finding a new site to put your MP3 files on -- iDrive bit the dust a while ago. *sighs* It seems they're all doing it nowadays.... |

It's such a beautiful site with loads of eye candy. The load time isn't great, but worth the wait. A small gripe from me is that I liked the older layouts. This one is pretty but a little.....busy. Oh well, it's still gorgous. The code has a lot of stuff in it, some which looks like it could be cut out. Of course, it's java stuff so what do I know? Hey, that scrolly circle thingy is pretty cool. I would have never thought of that. (And me being the crazy reviewer that I am, I almost got mad because I couldn't scroll down. Then I saw the little note and started playing with the little thingy.) You don't have a thumbnail for the wall paper. While this page doesn't have a ton of things to load, it is still better to give a thumbnail before using the height and width commands. Granted, they are beautiful, but it raises the loading time. Text links for the images are nice, but there are no descriptions so I have to click and hope that I like the image. Oh well, it's not like this page is soley for images. It's a shrine damnit! Ah! I ust got confused at the info page. You are talking about Sage and Rowen, and then you say "Even though he is calm, like Sage he can also fly into a rage at any given moment, especially if his friends are threatened-The Ronins are Rowen's first friends and he would die to protect them. (As his speech in Strata's Defiant Stand so tells us.)" Could Rowen's name being there be a typo? I hope so. Wow...there's so much extra info! I love it! I'm now a happy reviewer! I've learned so much today! Just browsing through the links, I think just about every RW/YST site out there is on the list. That's amazing! And lastly, sounds. No shrine is complete without sounds, images and downloads. Info, easy. Sounds, not easy. All in all, it's a great site that everyone, and I do mean everyone, should visit. It's got TONS of stuff, including info about all of the characters in a little section after the Sage info. Credit is given where due, which makes this page even better in my book. So, go take a look. Now! |
